The GSE/ Heavy Equipment Electricianinfinity-plane-01

Aviation GSE is on the hunt for a full-time Electrician to work with our power generation systems (GPUs). The ideal candidate is an dynamic personality that can be relied on to follow deadlines with minimal to no supervision. Preference will be given to Certified electricians with experience working with airport equipment or heavy equipment. Preference will be given to candidates with certification.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Experience with AC, DC generator manufacturing & maintenance (Hobart 30 to 90 KVA)
    Expert in using electrical test and measurements equipment such as megger, ohmmeters, voltmeters and ammeters
  • Testing of 400 Hz ground power equipment systems
  • Testing and maintaining Cycle Converters, Converters, Inverters manufacturing and maintenance (Inet, 180, 90Kva, Jet Power 90Kva)
  • experience installing and maintaining AC, DC motors, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and transformers
  • Able to read & interpret drawings & electrical code specifications for wiring layouts
  • Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Repair and maintain Converters, Converters, Inverters (Inet, 180, 90Kva, Jet Power 90Kva)
  • Install repair and replace AC, DC generators, motors, electrical control and panel boxes, splice, join and connect wires
  • Test electrical system and continuity of circuits in electrical at wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, ammeters, voltmeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, and test lamps, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures

 

The candidate should possess the at least one of the following credentials or equivalent to support the job responsibilities:

  • Canadian Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certificate (442A)
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Control Systems Or Degree in Power Systems and Automation preferred but not necessary
  • Certificate of recognition professional merit (400 Hz Ground Power System)
